Most of the world is now aware that TV icon Betty White sadly passed on December 31st, but a challenge circulated on social media to honor the star on what would have been her 100th birthday!
Fans
have harnessed the power of social media to orchestrate a fitting
tribute to the late actress, a lover of animals all her life, aptly
called the #BettyWhiteChallenge. It is being suggested that for Betty
White's 100th birthday, January 17th, everyone should pick a local
rescue or animal shelter in their area and donate just $5 in Betty
White's name. Eleventh Hour Rescue is a local animal rescue that saves the lives of homeless dogs and cats and finds them loving FURever homes. Ms. Filicetti has been volunteering with the organization since 2006 and spends much of her free time working with the dogs that live at EHR's shelter in Randolph until they are adopted. Betty White was a huge proponent of adoption and would have loved the work this organization does.
This
amazing woman spent most of her century of life working towards
protecting animals of all kinds, often hailed as a "champion for the
animal world." What better tribute than to help a shelter or rescue in
her name and make this birthday one the world will always remember!
