It’s on the face of a rescued animal thriving in his forever home. It’s in the excitement of a human family now made complete. Where there was once pain, fear, hunger, and uncertainty, Eleventh Hour Rescue provides hope of love, happiness, security, and safety.
Our featured pups, Nebula and Xena, are living proof. Unwanted, Nebula was rescued in our hometown of Mount Olive, NJ—the result of an unintentional breeding by two unaltered pet pit bulls. Xena was rescued from rural Texas, where stray animals are a persistent problem, and often shot—she and her litter mates living under a house without food, proper shelter or medical care. Adopted into loving homes, these furry best friends now enjoy regular play dates with unbridled exuberance. Watching the anxiety of the past give way to pure happiness with every chase, wrestle and tug-of-war, is a constant source of joy for their adoptive families.

Nebula and Xena are the lucky ones. More animals than ever before are sick, starving, and homeless. New litters are born—and old animals are abandoned—every day. It’s an unending battle, but we can’t stop helping. Since 2004, Eleventh Hour Rescue has saved over 45,000 homeless dogs and cats locally, nationally and internationally. From our own backyard in New Jersey to the war-torn streets of Ukraine, we uphold our promise to suffering animals in every dark corner of the world—we’ll be there.
